GORE-TEX®: The GORE-TEX® membrane is a very thin layer of polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) laminated to an outer fabric and very often lined. It is durably waterproof (28,000 mm) and windproof (RET between 6 and 13), while being permeable to water vapour. The result: water from the outside doesn't penetrate the garment, cold wind doesn't blow through it and perspiration can escape. |

Breathability index RET : Breathability refers to a fabric's ability to evacuate water vapour, and is measured in Thermal Evaporative Resistance (TER).
- RET < 6: extremely breathable fabric. A fabric that's comfortable to wear when you're exerting yourself.
- 6< RET < 12: highly breathable fabric. Fabric that is comfortable to wear for moderate exertion.
- 12< RET < 20: moderately breathable fabric. Fabric that is uncomfortable to wear when working hard.
- RET >; 20: low breathability fabric. Fabric that is uncomfortable to wear for moderate exertion.
